Moldavites are beautiful stones that are said to have spiritual properties. Their popularity, limited number and rising price are the cause of frequent attempts of forging.
I have just started to prepare a detailed manual on how to recognize a real moldavite from a fake. I will describe how to recognize natural cut, raw and other forms of moldavites.
Some of the steps in the manual will come in handy when trying to tell a fake in a photograph. I am also working on a step-by-step manual for gemmologists.
